Dallas Parkway North Closed Propane Tanker Overturned

I had to wait a couple of minutes to get this update on Google and I was really anxious to find out what was up with the Dallas Tollway closure. Apparently a propane tanker overturned involving a Sport Utility Vehicle between Main and Stonebrook. Read below for the full update.

Here’s an update from the city of Frisco about an accident involving a propane tanker and SUV earlier this morning on Dallas Parkway:

The Dallas North Tollway and the Dallas Parkway frontage roads – between Stonebrook Parkway and Main Street – are closed in both directions due to an overturned, propane tanker truck. The exit ramps on the DNT are closed at Cotton Gin Road and Main Street.

Northbound motorists are being forced to exit Stonebrook Parkway; southbound motorists are being forced to exit Main Street. It may be necessary to cut power to the area surrounding the accident site, which is at Cotton Gin and Dallas Parkway.

Frisco firefighters received the call at 10:03 a.m. regarding an accident involving the propane truck and an SUV. Frisco Fire HAZMAT, as well as two engines, one truck and one ambulance responded.

Investigators say the truck was hauling about 1,500 gallons of liquid propane.

“Due to damage to the tanker, officials with the trucking company say they cannot transfer the propane to another truck safely,” Fire Chief Mack Borchardt said. “As a result, we will be releasing propane into the air. Dallas Fire Department is assisting us by providing a vehicle with a large, mounted fan to help disperse the propone in a safe manner.”

The truck driver was transported to a hospital and treated for minor injuries. The driver of the SUV was not hurt. Frisco police are investigating the cause of the accident.

First responders expect the closures will be extended and advise motorists to find another route.

Chimney Repair/Painted by Will of Little Elm

After I received the Homeowners Association letter about my chimney wood trims needing repair I was getting ready for the task of getting quotes for chimney repair and chimney painted via Google search.

Waited until the weekend to start calling but then I saw a flyer at my door saying “Need your Chimney Painted?”

Called the guy named Will at 972-292-2791 and closed the deal!

So people of Little Elm – give Will a call and see if he can help you.

Google Voice Now Open to Everyone in the US. After the long wait! Google finally opens up the Google Voice to the public!

But the only thing I’m concerned about in this article is that about the voice transcript being index by the search engines.  Even though they said the it has been fixed its still disconcerting.

How to Quickly Create a Chart in Excel 2007

While reading an article about the search engines I decided to create a chart using the numbers the author was ranting about..

    Here’s how I did it.

    1.  Create data that needs to be charted in Excel 2007. Label the headings  and numbers. No blanks spaces in the table please.  See example below.
    Google     71.40%
    Yahoo     14.96%
    Bing            9.43%
    Ask             2.18%
    Others      2.03%

    2.  Click, hold and drag a box around the label and data to select it.

    3.  Select  Insert,Charts and choose the chart you want.

    4.   Format the chart by right-clicking it and that’s it!

So if your ipod/iphone got stolen Apple doesn’t do anything?!?

    Does anyone have any clue on how Apple stands on stolen Apple products?  I saw this on their website;

How to report lost or stolen Apple product?

Apple does not have a formal flagging process for reporting stolen property. If you have lost or found an Apple product, please contact your local law enforcement agency to report it.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2526?viewlocale=en_US

So does this means anyone can walk in an Apple store with a lost/stolen ipod touch and have it repaired or something?

Same thing with itunes? A lost/stolen ipod can be connected to itunes and Apple still makes money off it?  wow.
